Katie & Ian : A Home Grown Wedding!

Katie & Ian's stunning wedding reception took place at Katie's family farm following a beautiful ceremony at Crowland Abbey. It was a wedding of many firsts for me...the first time I've spent 4 days arranging flowers in a farmyard!! The first time we've had to forklift the ceiling floral arrangements into a marquee...they were pretty heavy! The first time I've decorated a cake that was suspended from the marquee ceiling!! The first time I've had a warehouse sized cold store to keep the flowers...there were a few thousand of those!! Katie chose my hands down favourite flowers...peonies, in gorgeous shades of pink and white and we teamed them with delphiniums, stocks, sweet peas, sweet williams, nigella, orlaya grandiflora and scabious. We also foraged through the gardens for the beautiful silver birch!! It was a dream wedding from start to end!

I filled the Abbey with clouds of gypsophilia and soft candlelight and then during the ceremony sneaked outside to decorate the beautiful horse drawn cart that they were to leave in! The marquee was filled with floral arrangements above the tables and beautiful pewter vessels and bottles brimming with wild, organic flowers on the tables. The stunning bar and cake area were also  covered in flowers!!

It was such a pleasure to work with some of the most amazing suppliers I know...
