Matt & Rachael's wedding at The Carriage Hall

So here's a little bit of Friday loveliness for you. Rachael was the perfect DIY bride...she added so many lovely details to her big day but asked me if I would help her out with her bouquet and buttonholes. These lovely images have been sent over by her husband, Matt Horan...enjoy!

1920's Glitz & Glam!

Another installment of floral and style trends!

This year it’s been all about vintage wedding style in all its glory! With next year’s release of ‘The Great Gatsby’ film and the popularity of dramas such as ‘Downton Abbey’, I think we are going to see a growing trend towards beautifully romantic 1920’s inspired wedding details. The old world glamour of this kind of literature and cinematography is truly stunning...from rich fabrics and gorgeous laces to ornate hair accessories, flapper dresses and beaded gowns. It’s all about the glitz and glamour!

To achieve this style, why not take a look at a gorgeous Jenny Packham gown...

Or be inspired by Kate Moss’s stunning John Galliano gown...

The 1920’s was all about accessories...gorgeous headbands or veils like this one...

For beautiful bespoke vintage accessories why not take a look at local designer Sheena Holland.
When it comes to planning your wedding flowers, why not add some feathers, crystals or vintage accessories to your bouquet?

I think this look has become much softer and whimsical, moving away from the traditional blacks, reds and silvers of the art deco era towards lovely soft romantic tones...think creams, soft pinks and peach with accents of pearl, metallics and gold. For your decor and centrepieces why not be a bit daring and have soft coloured sumptuous tablecloths and create a dreamy centrepiece with aged mercury glass or silver containers, vintage style crystal and lots of candlelight
